Risking It All For Love by Kimberly Montpetit

*I received this book for free in return for my honest opinion*

As a small Christmas themed novella... I was a little skeptical at first. But this had true heart put into each and every word. Plus, I am now ready to go for the holidays!
Jessica Mason did what most of us would do if something tragic happened, she ran. She ran from home, from her past, and from her feelings. She reluctantly agrees to come home for Christmas after three years of refusing to. What she finds is she's missed a lot. Including a new guy in town who is just bent on helping her. But will she let him in? Or will she shut him out like she's done to everyone else?

Owlet by Emma Michaels

*I received this book for free in exchange for my honest opinion*

Owlet is definitely a one of a kind book. This unique read was short and enjoyable, and I can't wait for the next installment. But first, it all starts with a girl named Iris.
Iris grew up with asthma, confined to her home. Her father loved her dearly, and her helper Diana did as well. Iris always believed her mother had died of childbirth, always blaming herself for her mother's passing. But when her father has Diana take her to an island that she has often dreamed about, secrets start unraveling. The truth is sometimes a harsh thing. A few quick turns and you might not be able to get your bearings. Unless there's someone to guide you. Especially a someone who has loved you for all his life.
I enjoyed the story, though sometimes finding it a little confusing or muddled. It is truly like nothing I have ever read before. And the next in the "Society of Feathers" sounds just as intriguing... I give this 4 stars in my book!

This Isn't The End...

What comes to mind when you see this book cover? To some it's just a cover of a childish kids book. To others, it resonates a deeper meaning. And I am one of those people. Rick Riordan has touched many lives with this series. And it all started with the character of Percy Jackson...
Percy was a young and naive twelve year-old in this first installment of the Percy Jackson & The Olympians Series that published in 2005. Since then, he has become a 17 year-old demigod who has taught many along the way of two sets of series spanning ten novels, three sets of short-stories and teasers, so far three graphic novels, and will now have two ultimate guides to Greek Mythology. So no, this won't be the end of Percy and his friends. We will always remember his quirky fondness for any blue food, and the way we watched him slowly fall in love with Annabeth.
But for me it's a goodbye to all those years of patiently (or not) waiting for the next one. I started off reading the infamous Harry Potter as a young child which I will always love. Though they will never hold in my heart the same feelings as the tales Rick Riordan has woven these years. It's probably because of my age when I started reading them and the age I am now that stems my true love for this series. I've grown up with them by me all this time. From the first word to the last, I was hooked. I'm sad to see them end, but I am thankful for all the years Rick put into sharing his stories with us.

My Own Mr. Darcy by Karey White

My Own Mr. Darcy by Karey White

*I received this book for free in exchange for an honest opinion*

In this book we meet Elizabeth "Lizzie" Barret who is obsessed with the 2005 movie version of Pride and Prejudice, but more importantly who portrays Mr. Darcy in the film. She dreams of finding her own Mr. Darcy, putting off ever seriously dating someone. Until her best friend makes her promise to give the next guy who asks her out at least ten dates before dumping him. Lizzie reluctantly agrees to this challenge, hoping to get it done and over with as quickly as possible. But her feelings had other ideas.
Chad is sweet, kind, and just a fun guy to be around. He quickly gets Lizzie questioning her obsession with her dream guy. But then Lizzie meets Matt, a tall, arrogant man that could pass for Mr. Darcy's twin brother. She wants him and solely him, but is he what she really wants, or really needs in life? With her feelings for Chad growing she must choose between two totally different men. Her choice lies in this truly sweet retelling of the classic Pride and Prejudice, and I recommend it for anyone who wants a light and fun read.
